To tan or not to tan, that is the question! This is something I get asked quite a lot and it’s quite a tricky one. A lot of people will say not to fake tan on your wedding day and I understand there are so many risks attached by turning to the bottle. I’m talking streaky skin, patches, reactions, too much tango and not to mention transferring onto your white dress. But, who am I trying to kid, my teenage years were in the naughties and I LOVE a golden glow. For me it’s more than just having bronzed skin, I don’t even feel healthy if I don’t have a bit of tan on.
On my wedding I absolutely got a spray tan before and I’m so pleased I did. However, I knew the spray tanner and the product before the day so I knew it would suit my wedding. I think going golden is a great addition to your wedding but I would recommend doing your research first.
At Amy Hair and Make Up Artist Kent we specialist in a more natural, even bohemian look. But ultimately you need to do what is going to make you feel your most confident self, and if that include a bit of artificial sun, so be it!
Here are my top tips for tanning on your wedding day;
Preparation is key - Like everything, just make sure you are prepared. Exfoliate your skin and keep well moisturised for the best looking tan.
Use the product before the big day - Make sure you know how your skin reacts to the tan and check it doesn't transfer.
Application trial run - whether you are sticking to the pro's or getting one of your besties to help, have a trial run using the same product. You can find out how this will sit and last on your skin.

A lot of my brides to like a bit of an artificial glow, as did I on my wedding day. I have never had any bad experiences and my brides always look and feel amazing!
